Wollongong City Council is seeking two qualified Community Cultural Development Workers to join our Cultural Services Team. Supporting a vibrant, positive and energised team, you will combine your understanding of and commitment to the principles of socal justice and community cultural development to plan and facilitate programs and projects that deliver the goals of Council's Cultural Plan 2014-18.
Two opportunties are available. Both positions are part time fixed term positions to 30 June 2019 with possibility of extension. One position is 21 hours per week, the other position is 14 hours per week.
Essential Selection Criteria:
A relevant recognised degree qualification appropriate to the position.
Demonstrated experience applying the principles and practices of community cultural development and community engagement
Demonstrated ability to work in a constructive and flexible manner in the arts area and achieve agreed Business Plan objectives including the Cultural Plan, using corporate, information technology, risk assessment and other management systems.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to a team based culture in order to meet business goals and objectives.
Highly developed organisational and project management skills including the ability to use data to support decision making and to plan strategically and operationally.
High level communication and interpersonal skills including problem solving, conflict resolution, report writing, and gaining and maintaining co-operation from others.
Ability to develop productive working relationships in a professional manner and with a diverse range of people including internal and external customers.
Demonstrated ability to implement and monitor WH&S systems, policies and procedures relating to the program area and a demonstrated understanding of WHS principles.
Current Class "C" driver's licence (optional depending on position requirements)
