RECREATION STRATEGY COORDINATOR

FULL TIME

We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative and team oriented Recreation Strategy Coordinator for our Infrastructure Services group. Reporting to the Manager, Property & Recreation, you will be required to provide assistance in recreation related functions in accordance with Council's policy, plans and relevant legislative requirements.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

Degree in the field of Planning, Recreation & Leisure, Sports Administration or related field
Relevant 2 years experience in recreation or a related field
Demonstrated experience in the preparation of strategies, plans, studies and/or reports relating to recreational buildings and facilities
Experience in project management in relation to consultation, design and development
Experience in community consultation
Highly developed ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbally) to the members of the public, senior management and Council employees
Ability to meet deadlines and manage several projects simultaneously
Ability to negotiate and interact on complex issues both internally and externally
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Solid working experience in Microsoft Office Suite
Current Class C Drivers Licence

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

Knowledge of Local Government structure and operations
Experience Tech One software and Records Management systems
Conflict resolution skills with proven ability to negotiate and interact on complex issues both internally and externally

This is a full time position and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government State Award, relevant legislation and Council's policies and procedures.

The position is Grade 17 under Council's salary system with a salary up to $1440.98 per week.
