Continuing our growth is the exciting new acquisition of Garrison Support Services for the Australian Defence Force (ADF). We are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified health professionals to provide medical services to ADF bases across NSW and ACT. These roles will be offered initially for a contract period of two (2) years, commencing as soon as possible.

South NSW Garrison locations include Canberra, Wagga Wagga and Nowra.

Registered Nurses

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivery of clinical care to Defence Personnel in accordance with professional standards, legislation and Defence policies and procedures. Duties vary depending on facilities and additional information will be available to applicants later in the recruitment process.

To be successful you will:

Essential:

Be an Australian Citizen;
Hold or have ability to hold a baseline clearance;
Registered Nurse division 1, holding a current unconditional registration with APHRA
Minimum of 2 years post registration acute nursing experience with demonstrated recency of practice in one or more of the following acute clinical specialities; medical, surgical, accident & emergency and high dependency;
Endorsed Enrolled and Enrolled Nurses

Under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) the Endorsed Enrolled Nurse (EEN) and Enrolled Nurse (EN) is responsible for delivery of clinical care to Defence Personnel in accordance with professional standards, legislation and Defence policies and procedures.

Essential:

Enrolled Nurse Certificate or Certificate IV in Health (Enrolled Nursing) and current unconditional registration with AHPRA;
Minimum of 2 years post registration acute nursing experience with demonstrated recency of practice in one or more of the following acute clinical specialities; medical, surgical, accident & emergency and high dependency;
Current Basic Life Support qualification
Additionally, the Endorsed Enrolled Nurse will be required to:

If enrolled nurse registered prior to 2008, must have a Board approved qualifications in administration medication course. Post 2008, this is incorporated into Health Training Package for AHPRA registration. Medication administration does not extend to intravenous, intrathecal or epidural routes;
Demonstrated compliance with AHPRA codes, guidelines and statements for enrolled nurses.
Desirable

Demonstrated venepuncture and cannulation skills
Previous experience working with the ADF
