Shoalhaven City Council is seeking to appoint an experienced individual to the position of Customer & Community Resources Manager for a 2 year Fixed Term contract. Shoalhaven City Council is located on the South Coast of New South Wales, approximately two (2) hours from Sydney, and an hour from Wollongong.

The position, reporting directly to the Library Services Manager, will be responsible for:

Leading the Customer Service team in the delivery of a customer centric library service.
Managing the public space at Nowra Library and supervising all circulation desk duties.
Supporting and managing the day to day operations of the Nowra Library Team functions and staff.
Ensuring processes and protocols are in place for the Nowra Library Team’s compliance with all relevant legislation and Council policies and ensure that risks are managed.

To be successful in this position, you will possess:

Accredited degree as recognized by the Australian Library and Information Association.
Five years equivalent experience in Reader/ Client Services.
Relevant supervisory/ management experience.
Demonstrated knowledge in a variety of library services including:
Client services in libraries, including Readers Advisory
Delivery of circulation services and staff rosters in libraries
Knowledge of traditional, contemporary and popular literature including children and youth
Knowledge of resources and formats relevant to popular culture
Understanding of current industry issues, trends and emerging technologies
