About LAC Transition Services
The Local Area Coordination (LAC) Transition Services is rolling out an important aspect of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The aim of the programme is to empower people with disabilities and their families and carers to build goals, awareness and inclusivity enabling them to direct and control their decisions within their lives.
At Uniting, we believe in taking real steps to make the world a better place. Our not-for-profit services are in the areas of aged care and disability, community services and chaplaincy. We also get involved in social justice and advocacy issues that impact the people we serve.
Uniting is seeking Team Leaders to be based at our offices in Wollongong, Nowra and Gerringong.
As an effective leader, you will be responsible for leading and managing day to day operations, setting objectives, managing performance, and coaching and developing team members in conjunction with the Workplace Learning Coach. You will lead the development of a service culture that promotes person centred approaches and outcomes, reflecting the right of people with disability to exercise control over all aspects of their lives.
Are you the person we are looking for?
Demonstrated experience in leading and maintaining high performance teams within the disability or related services.
Lived experience, or awareness of the impact of existing or acquired disability upon individuals, families, carers and the community is desirable.
Understanding of relevant sector standards, policy, direction and changes, including the National Disability Insurance Scheme
Relevant tertiary qualification/s in the social and community /government sectors well regarded.
You will need to be experienced in using computers to input information, Word and Excel, as all of our information systems are on-line
