We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Traffic Manager to be a part of our Road Network Manager within Roads and Maritime Services. This position plays a key role in Journey Management Division and reports directly to the Manager Field Operations and Services.
The Field Traffic Manager is responsible for managing and reporting on the day to day operation of the state road network, ensuring a high degree of traffic incident response preparedness, appropriate allocation of field resources, incident response planning and management, provision of training and education for internal and external stakeholders and supporting other aspects of the business relating to planned road access and special events and operations to ensure the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the state road network.
We are looking for a Field Traffic Manager who:
Drives and promotes standardised traffic incident management practice across NSW to facilitate the optimum flow of traffic and quick clearance of incidents on the state road network. Attend road related unplanned (emergency) incidents on a needs basis.
Manages the field response to traffic incidents and emergencies on the state road network, including advocating the quick clearance of incidents and urgent restoration of roadway capacity and reporting on incident impacts and agency responses.
Reviews traffic incident response resource and service requirements on a regular basis to ensure effective and cost efficient services are being delivered across the State and recommendations for improved service provision are evidence based and aimed at achieving high response standards.
We are also looking for someone who has experience in:
Working collaboratively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve operational outcomes.
Understanding customer and stakeholder needs and expectations in developing operational improvements to the road network.
Understanding community expectations and providing expert advice to allow motorists to make safe and efficient travel choices, particularly in relation to unplanned incidents.

Remuneration package – RMS USS Grade 10 (114,430), plus employers contribution to superannuation, plus annual leave loading
