We are seeking an enthusiastic person to join the City Development team. This is a great opportunity to gain skills and experience as a Development Assessment Officer in one of the fastest growing regions of NSW.
You will be responsible for the assessment of a range of Development Applications, provision of technical advice to internal and external customers, attending to pre-lodgement meetings and a range of other functions such as policy and procedure reviews.
Relevant qualifications (or nearing completion) of study in Town Planning, Health & Building Surveying or equivalent skills and experience
Demonstrated knowledge of Environmental Planning and Assessment Act (EP&A) & related legislation
Ability to work as part of a team
Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to assess and determine development applications that comply with legislation and Council policy
Ability to apply legislation and policy
Experience in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of software
Current driver's license
This is a permanent full time position and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government State Award, relevant legislation and Council's policies and procedures.
The position will range from Grade 14 to Grade 16 with a salary range from $1145.55 per week to $1286.83 per week under Council's salary system depending on qualifications and experience. Other benefits include a fully maintained leaseback vehicle in accordance with Council's motor vehicle policy.
