We currently have an opportunity for Mechanical and Electrical Shift Engineers to join our Engineering Department to drive the achievement of planned on-shift maintenance activities of the Metropolitan mine.
The Metropolitan Mine is an underground mine located 30 kilometres north of Wollongong near the township of Helensburgh that produces coking coal for export and domestic markets.
Reporting to the Engineering Department, the Shift Engineers are responsible for:
Consulting with the Mechanical & Electrical Process Coordinators for allocation of resources on shift
Assisting in the planning and execution of underground plant and equipment maintenance
Ensuring all relevant statutory compliance is maintained and appropriately authorised
Pro-actively participating, communicating and encouraging safety awareness in the workplace
Maintaining detailed history of work and delays on shift
Assisting with project management of new installations around the mine
Relevant engineering and/or trade qualifications
Underground coal mining experience with an excellent safety record
Proven experience in a similar role and/ or ability to lead a team to meet organisational goals
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional leadership capability and proven relationship building skills
Well-developed interpersonal and influencing abilities
Excellent time management skills
