This is a temporary part time 20hpw maternity leave relief position until 31/7/2017 with the possibility of extension at the same/reduced hours.

Provide a clinical management and consultation service to patients with endocrine disorders and participate in the after-hours endocrinology on call roster for Wollongong Hospital.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for a position based at Wollongong Hospital, approximately 80km south of Sydney. The successful applicant will be required to provide clinical inpatient and outpatient services at Wollongong Hospital. An essential requirement of the appointment is the participation in the Endocrinology on call roster at Wollongong Hospital. The on call requirements are one week in three to four. There are two outpatient clinics that the successful applicant will be expected to participate in, which is a Tuesday afternoon (13:30-1600) Endocrinology Outpatient clinic at Wollongong Hospital, and a Friday morning (8:30-13:00) Diabetes Outpatient Clinic at the Illawarra Diabetes Service, located about ten minutes’ walk away from Wollongong Hospital. There is an Endocrinology Advanced Trainee and a Basic Trainee that also require supervision during clinic hours. The Illawarra Diabetes Service is also involved in Clinical Trials, and the successful applicant will be expected to help with some of the administrative tasks required for this (training provided).
