ALLIED HEALTH ASSISTANT

CEREBRAL PALSY ALLIANCE- WOLLONGONG

WOLLONGONG, NSW, 2500

CASUAL

Are you enthusiastic, versatile and customer service-oriented?
Are you a self-starter who thrives on variety?
Able to work both individually and as part of a supportive team?
Are you a great communicator with experience in a multidisciplinary team?
Do you want to make a real difference in people’s lives?

This is an exciting career opportunity for a dynamic, proactive and skilled individual to become an integral member of a close-knit multidisciplinary team. Located in either Wagga Wagga, Nowra, Moruya or Albury, the team comprises allied health professionals – including speech pathologists, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, etc.

Our therapy services are based around a family-centred philosophy, in which all team members collaborate to work towards the goals identified by our clients – children and adults with cerebral palsy or other disabilities and their families. The successful candidate will require a good understanding of this approach.

You will assist in implementing therapy and skill development programs developed by our allied health professionals. This means you’ll be working independently, but under general supervision. In turn, you will provide support and basic training to parents and carers, enabling them to incorporate therapy and skill development activities into their everyday activities and routines.

You will be a confident communicator, as you’ll be expected to develop great working relationships and partnerships with your colleagues, clients, their families and circles of support. You’ll also be building and nurturing connections in the community on behalf of your clients. Internally, you’ll notify allied health professionals of any issues that you believe need escalating.

If you are an experienced disability support worker and envisage yourself moving into a therapy role in the long term, this could be an excellent career move for you.

These are casual positions.
