The Australian Synchrotron (AS) is a division within the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO and one of the nations premier science facilities that provides a vibrant focal point for researchers from Australia, NZ and further afield. Employing more than 80 engineers and scientists in diverse areas of synchrotron science and engineering, the facility provides world-leading technical capability that delivers better and faster experimental techniques that enhance current fundamental and applied research. The facility promotes international collaboration to enable leading-edge R&D that will greatly benefit Australia and our regional neighbours.
The Projects Administrator is responsible for providing administrative and project support to the Head of the Project Management Office. The role includes project administration, document control, asset management, and related administrative tasks at project meetings.
Skills and experience in the following areas is essential.
Experience providing administration support in a project delivery environment as part of a multidisciplinary project team;
High level of organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to determine priorities and manage tasks and take initiative
Relevant experience to enable accurate interpretation and recording of project management discussions and process management;
Demonstrated experience operating and using document control and project communication and processes;
Excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels collaborate with team members and engage with stakeholders;
Strong administration skills with high level computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications, including
Data management using MS - Excel
Effective organisation and time management skills.
High attention to detail
Desirable skills include:
A background in supporting science / engineering / technical teams.
Some experience with finance and contract management systems
Experience with MS Project or similar project management tools
