SENIOR PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST

We are seeking an enthusiastic and results orientated individual to join our manufacturing procurement team at Port Kembla, NSW as a Senior Procurement Specialist. The manufacturing procurement team is responsible for procurement activity of the Port Kembla steel works and the Springhill rolling and coating operations, and provides commercial solutions to optimise value delivery of suppliers, at the same time as mitigating business risk and ensuring compliance with the businesses safety and environmental standards.
You will have a range of responsibilities including strategic sourcing, contract management, liaison with key stakeholders of the business, and providing best practice to support short and long term procurement activities. This includes managing the end-to-end procurement process, including managing the tender process, negotiating supply or service agreements, developing contracts and managing supplier relationships via contract and KPI management. You will also support the business with data analysis requests and general support.
You should either be from a procurement background, or have had significant interaction with procurement processes in your current or previous roles. Degree qualifications are desirable but not mandatory.
To be successful in this role you will ideally have a proven track record in the effective management of direct and/or indirect spend categories. You will also have prior experience of managing tender processes and possess strong relationship management, negotiation, analytical skills and sound knowledge of contract law with an ability to prepare commercial contracts. Strong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with an ability to influence various stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
