VISITOR SERVICES ASSISTANT

Salary: $46,500 – 52,400 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 9.5% Superannuation
2 x permanent positions (21 & 24 hours per week)

Council is seeking to appoint two (2) motivated and enthusiastic individuals to the permanent part time positions of Visitor Services Assistant (21 and 24 hours per week). The position will allow the successful candidates to interact with the local and tourist community providing expert knowledge, tips and hints.

The position will be required to work weekends.

The focus of the position is to:

Deliver a high quality of customer service to those interacting with visitor services
Influence those interacting with visitors services to spend more time and money in the Shoalhaven region, including via the phone, face to face and via online services.
Drive income to visitor’s services via merchandise sales, accommodation and package bookings and ticket sales.
To be successful in the position, the successful candidates should possess:

Diploma in visitor’s services or relevant experience.
Ability to consult, share information and work collaboratively.
Ability to demonstrate customer service values
Basic computer skills including word and excel
Experience in POS operating systems
Cash handling
Sales and communications


RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • Tourism Officer - Visitor Information Centre
  • Customer Service Assistant
  • Advanced Diploma of Hotel and Tourism Administration
