The 151 bed private hospital operated by Australia's largest private hospital operator, Ramsay Health Care, is set in the heart of Wollongong's Medical Precinct adjacent to the Wollongong Public Hospital. It features state of the art equipment, facilities and patient services setting a benchmark for healthcare facilities in the Illawarra.
Wollongong Private Hospital includes all major services including an intensive care unit, nine operating theatres, a cardiac catheter laboratory and a day oncology unit. It offers the full range of medical, surgical and maternity services and will be commencing Cardiothoracic surgery in 2016.
An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and experienced Perioperative Nurse Educator to facilitate and effectively manage clinical education and competency programs within the Theatre environment. The role encompasses planning, implementing and evaluating practices, processes and services related to clinical education. The role requires working with and supporting management in achieving excellence in care delivery in line with best practice and legislative requirements. You will need to have exceptional communication skills, have the ability to manage challenging situations calmly, and be able to engage with all of our stakeholders.
Skilled Registered Nurse with AHPRA (Minimum of 5 years clinical experience)
Comprehensive knowledge and experience of peri-operative services
Experience in a Perioperative Nurse educator role
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to ensure excellence in customer service
Certificate IV Workplace Training & Assessment or willing to undertake
Post graduate qualifications or working towards same
Advanced problem solving skills
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.
Excellent time management skills
Experience in Cardiothoracic surgery
