MAINTENANCE FITTER - NOWRA

Boral Timber is a leading supplier of hardwood and softwood timber products employing around 300 people predominantly on the east coast of Australia. Timber operates 7 manufacturing sites and 6 distribution outlets. Products are sold into the structural, commercial and renovation markets and are distributed across domestic and export markets.

The Hardwood Manufacturing Facility at Nowra has recently approved the installation of a new kiln dried decking line that is expected to commence operation in early 2016. This is an exciting project for the business and we are now looking to recruit two experienced Maintenance Fitters for the new and current operation.

Two shifts available:

Day shift 6-3:45 and afternoon 2-10pm. Shift are interchangeable, must be flexible with working hours.

Reporting to the Site Manager, your primary responsibility will be to maintain on site production facilities and equipment to a high standard to enable optimum production performance and safe operations.

Responsibilities include but will not be limited to;

Carrying out breakdown maintenance when required
Work to maintenance and repair schedules
Develop planned maintenance schedules in conjunction with operators, supervisors, the D&H Manufacturing Manager and equipment suppliers
Liaise with mill staff to improve operations and safety
Progressively implement a Total Production Maintenance Program with assistance from the maintenance supervisor
Assist with ideas when hazards are identified
To be considered for this role, you must have the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

Trade qualifications in Fitter / Machinist or Maintenance Fitter
Cert 3 or 4 in Hydraulics / pneumatics preferred
Able to work in Team environment and able to work autonomously
Able to trouble shoot Hydraulics /pneumatics
Welding Qualifications
Good knowledge of workplace safety required
Experience in a manufacturing or similar industry
The site operates on a 38hr week, day/afternoon shift basis Monday to Friday. You must be flexible with working hours as there could be overtime involved depending on requirements.
