Flexible, part time role, 3 days per week, negotiable

About Aspect: Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) is Australia's largest national specialist autism provider, delivering services to people within NSW, ACT, Victoria and SA. Aspect provides a range of centre and community based services, focussing on education, early intervention, skills development, community engagement, and self-directed options for people on the autism spectrum.
About the role: Work within a trans-disciplinary team of therapists including speech pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, special educators & social workers. Develop, deliver & evaluate evidence based, individualised services across a range of settings within the specified region of NSW. Work with individuals on the autism spectrum &/or other developmental disabilities through individualised school, home & community based programs. Build capacity of families, care givers & the broader community to develop the strengths of each individual & to promote & encourage engagement within their community.
Ideally we are looking for candidates who are active in and have strong networks within this local area. Travel between community settings & home visits within the specified region of NSW is required.
Implement good practice autism specific programs in a range of community settings
Promote person & family centred practices
Provide strategies for ongoing skills development & social inclusion of each individual on the spectrum
Participate in continual professional development using evidence based & reflective practice in positive behaviour intervention support
Assist in coordinating the delivery of a service across a region
Working with a team to support individuals on the autism spectrum & with varying needs
Essential skills, experience & qualifications:
Tertiary or higher qualification in Occupational Therapy
Fully registered with AHPRA
Experience in the fields of autism & PBS, including conducting functional assessments & person centred interventions
Ability to empower others to implement & maintain strategies
Ability to coordinate the delivery of a service, including managing enquiries, referrals & intake as well as recording & reporting service information
Demonstrated ability to empathise with individuals on the autism spectrum & their families
Outstanding organisational, communication & presentation skills
Current valid NSW driver's licence & use of own vehicle for business purposes
Willingness to travel across the regional area allocated
Current NSW Working With Children Check clearance for paid employment
A police check is a requirement. Aspect will arrange this.
