SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER
This role is for a technology guru with a passion for IoT and clean energy. You must be hands-on with solid skills, ready to push our product vision forward from the first day. This position is not for anyone constrained by rigid corporate mindsets or who is looking for an easy job. This is an agile growth oriented start-up which is set to disrupt the energy sector with smart solar and battery storage in Australia and overseas.
We have impressive advisors, CEO, CTO, and foundation development team in place. We’re commercial, have validated the product, secured some great customers, and now have channel partners taking us global. We are progressing our series A raise, and are ready to accelerate development and build out our team. All our team are locally based in Newcastle, which is a great place to live with affordable beach lifestyle and only 2.5 hours north of Sydney.

MUST have strong lead background in agile multi-disciplinary teams and tool sets such as bitbucket, JIRA and confluence;
MUST have strong maker experience across front-end, cloud systems, real-time, and Web technologies such as:
Python, Django, Numpy, Pandas, and Sklearn
HTML, CSS, Javascript, Angular, node.js and websockets
PostgreSQL database
Cassandra and Redis NoSQL Databases
Linux (Ubuntu and Debian)
SOLID experience with back-end and DevOps technologies such as:
DevOps with Ansible and Docker
AWS Cloud Services such as IAM, EC2, SES and S3
Stream processing systems such as Storm, Spark or Flink
MQTT, AMQP and related brokers
EXPOSURE to messaging platforms, SCADA, low latency (e.g. trading) systems, Big Data, predictive analytics, embedded, and general mobile and web services a distinct advantage
CONVERSANT with emerging/leading edge technologies, that will allow scalable solutions for the business going forward.
The candidate needs to be technology agnostic, and able to develop technology solutions to ensure delivery of business goals. Delivery will require initiative and teamwork with big picture as the guiding rule but with fine detail and quality as the stepping-stone.
This could suit the experienced software engineer who likes to manage the details, calls the scrum, and keeps their hands dirty impressing the team with high quality code and elegant solutions; or an exceptional mid-level person who has covered the territory and for whom this role is the next step. There is a world-class executive team to work with and as the team grows this role will become more strategic with plenty of scope to learn and lead.
