This is an exiciting opportunity to join a large and diverse Local Government organisation in a Supply Officer role within the procurement stream. You will be part of a team that is responsible for the Supply Chain and Logistics Management Function of Council. The role provides essential advice and support throughout the tendering process to help ensure procedures, legal and statutory requirements are met and provides support to Councils Fleet Management processs.

The role is responsible for administering Councils tender processes and Contracts Register, maintaining Councils E-Tendering Portal and administering councils motor vehicle leaseback arrangements. The role provides an excellent opportunity to improve your procurement and fleet management skills and develop your Local Government knowledge.

Essential Selection Criteria:

Demonstrated ability to use a Financial Management Information System (FMIS) together with word processing, spreadsheets, and other office software applications.
Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent relevant administrative experience.
Proven ability to be innovative to develop policies, procedures and processes to meet business objectives.
Demonstrated ability to apply the principles of Total Quality Management (TQM) and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) to the Supply function.
Demonstrated understanding of Occupational Health and Safety and Risk Management principles.
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff.
Demonstrated ability to support management initiatives and to work as an effective team member resulting in efficient and effective working relationships.
Demonstrated practical experience in supply chain and logistics management across a diverse range of products and services.
Organisational skills of a high level and the ability to work with minimal supervision to complete tasks in an environment of conflicting priorities and deadlines.
Current Class “C” drivers licence.
Deirable Selection Criteria:

Demonstrated ability to use an Asset Management Information System (AMIS).
Experience and knowledge in the initiation, development, compilation and administration of contract documentation which meets legislative and organisational requirements.
Highly developed knowledge/experience in purchasing, supply and fleet management principles together with knowledge and an understanding of accounting principles in a Supply function.
Understanding of the accountabilities associated with the Local Government Act 1993 as it applies to the Supply function.
