DISTRICT NURSING & MIDWIFERY MANAGER – OPERATIONS

The primary role of the position is to provide high-level support to the ISLHD Executive Director, Nursing and Midwifery.

The position is responsible for planning, analysis and governing the implementation of Local Health District and State initiatives, projects and strategies relating to Nursing and Midwifery. The position has a strong focus on the enhancement of nursing and midwifery quality and safety.

1. Registered nurse/midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (APRHA).

2. Tertiary qualification in relevant area (or working towards same).

3. Experience working in a senior nurse and/or midwifery leadership position.

4. Demonstrated ability to lead the design, delivery and evaluation of District-wide strategies relating to Nursing and Midwifery development.

5. Excellent conceptual, analytical, problem solving and planning skills and the ability to apply these to support ISLHD Nursing and Midwifery strategic directions.

6. Excellent and effective interpersonal, organisational and computer literacy skills.

7. Comprehensive knowledge of professional and practice issues surrounding nursing and midwifery clinical practice at a local, national and international level.

8. Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team and engage key stakeholders.
