ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST

An opportunity exists for a dynamic and committed individual to take on the role of an Electrical Equipment Specialist working in the Coke Plant 1 Asset Development team at Bluescope, Port Kembla.

In this role, the Electrical Equipment Specialist will provide a day-to-day assessment of the plant performance through operational inspections and condition monitoring of equipment. The Electrical Equipment Specialist will also provide technical advice and support for the electrical trades people on a daily basis, to ensure both planned work and breakdowns are completed to the required standards of safety,environment and quality of work.

As the Electrical Equipment Specialist the successful candidate will:
Identify and progress improvement opportunities with the aim of substantially improvingequipment reliability
Make assessments of the priority of emergent work relative to planned work to ensure electrical trade resources are applied in the best interests of the business
Coach and mentor operators, shift trades and electrical trades in equipment function and technology

This position is responsible and accountable for supporting and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace and for adherence to company policies and other applicable laws, regulations and standards for the workplace. If adequate laws or policies don’t exist, it must ensuring practices adopted reflect a commitment to the highest standard in OH&S; and environment.

To be successful in this role the following key qualifications, skills and experience are required:
Electrical Trade Certificate
Department of Fair Trading – Qualified Supervisors Certificate
Knowledge of heavy equipment and its maintenance
Effective communication skills across a variety of roles
Passion about maintenance excellence
A focus on continuous plant improvement
Demonstrated commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental standards

The following qualifications, skills and experience will be considered an advantage:
Electrical Engineering Associate Diploma
PLC, fault finding, and/or Cokemaking experience
