Our client manages a large horticultural operation in the Ord River District. We are seeking a Farm Supervisor to join their professional team in a diverse role.
The scope of the position is to supervise a geographical area under the direction of the Farm Manager with a view to ensure that maintenance/production programs are carried out on time and to company standards. The role will be vital in ensuring that the large horticultural farm meets company performance targets in terms of growth, production and quality.
Reporting to the Farm Manager you will be involved in key maintenance, establishment, and operational aspects of the plantation. The Plantation Supervisor will be responsible for management of plantation operations including coordination of site contractors and staff and all associated administration responsibilities in line with this role.
Duties include:
Manage day to day farming practices for the property including tractor work, spraying, drip irrigation etc
Management of contractors and casual staff
Ensure the appropriate maintenance of plantation plant and equipment with the onsite Mechanic
Manage, implement and maintain the plantation budget
Essential knowledge and skills:
Extensive experience in day to day duties of Agricultural or Horticultural farms.
Tractor experience and use of associated spray equipment and other implements.
Drip irrigation knowledge and experience
Minimum two years' experience in a similar role
Ability to use the Microsoft Office suite
Current C Class Driver's Licence
Experience in coordinating and managing staff
Practical technical skills
Comprehensive communication skills
Effective time management and organisational skills
Experience in report compilation and record keeping
Desirable:
Occupational or Remote First Aid
HR Driver's Licence
