Purpose of Position
The Level 4 Paediatric Audiologist has a recognised clinical specialty within paediatric audiology or a high level of broad generalist knowledge requiring high levels of clinical expertise and knowledge in disorders of hearing in babies and children.

The Level 4 Senior Clinician is able to demonstrate advanced reasoning skills and operate autonomously with minimum direct clinical supervision. The Level 4 Clinician is able to provide clinical services to all client groups and circumstances of a complex nature requiring advanced practice skills. They are also responsible for the clinical supervision and support of Level 1, 2 and 3 health professionals.

The Level 4 Clinician is involved with the planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting on clinical services.

The Level 4 Clinician will have a consultative role within paediatric audiology or across a broad range of clinical areas in audiology. They will also conduct clinical research and participate in the provision of clinical in-service education programmes to staff and students.

A Level 4 Senior Clinician may have an operational/supervisory role under the direction of the Head of Department and may be required to manage specific tasks or projects.

The Level 4 Senior Clinician will provide advice to the Head of Discipline and the Unit Head on clinical service delivery development, practise and redesign. They will provide guidance to management in the development of clinical services in response to demand and client needs.

Selection Criteria
1. Must hold a Masters degree in clinical audiology which provides eligibility for full membership of the Audiological Society of Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
2. Extensive post graduate clinical experience in the clinical specialty area or high level of broad generalist knowledge
3. Well developed time management skills
4. Excellent written and verbal communication
5. Demonstrated service evaluation and development
6. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team
7. Demonstrated ability to provide senior level of supervision to staff and/or student
