The ARC Research Hub for Australian Steel Manufacturing, hosted by the University of Wollongong, is a collaborative and cross-disciplinary research program which has attracted more than $12m in funding from the Australian Research Council and key industry partners.

The Steel Research Hub has 5 core Industry Partners (BlueScope, Arrium, the Australian Steel Institute, Bisalloy Steels and Cox Architecture) and partners with 5 Australian Universities (the University of Queensland, University of Newcastle, Swinburne, RMIT and the University of NSW).

This position will lead the Australian Steel Manufacturing Research Hub to ensure successful implementation of the Hub research program and achieve its aim to develop breakthrough product and process innovations that will enable the Australian steel industry to improve its global competitiveness, and to increase the success rate of technological innovations by creating a long-term alignment of University researchers, industrial partners and SMEs. You may also contribute to the teaching and research of metallurgy and materials based engineering within the Faculty of EIS, and undertake their own research both within and outside the context of the Steel Hub. This is in keeping with UOW aims to build an outstanding research community that values emerging researchers and supports research-active staff to achieve high quality results and disseminate their benefits to user communities.
