Are you an experienced cataloguer librarian?

Central Library is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Team Leader Librarian to work collaboratively within its Acquisitions and Cataloguing section, leading the Cataloguing team. You will have high level cataloguing skills and experience, demonstrated leadership skills, a good understanding of the role of public libraries, and the ability to contribute to the continuous improvement and development of library services.
Under Part 2, Section 6 of the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012, this position has been designated as requiring a Working with Children Check.

Essential Selection Criteria:

Hold a degree level qualification in library and information services or equivalent/higher recognised relevant qualification.
Demonstrated awareness of professional trends in library services.
Proven ability to plan and lead cataloguing activities, including preparation of bibliographic records of various formats according to bibliographic standards.
Proven ability to supervise and encourage staff members.
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively and efficiently in the achievement of work programs and project objectives in a library setting.
Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service in a library setting.
Proven ability to plan and prioritise work and meet deadlines in a library setting.
Proven ability to exercise good judgement in problem solving and decision making.
Proven ability to adapt to a changing work environment and a commitment to implementing change in the work place.
Demonstrated ability to use data collection analysis to support decision-making in a library setting.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
Proven commitment to working effectively in a team environment.
Demonstrated understanding of Work Health and Safety principles.
Demonstrated relevant knowledge and experience in computer applications including computer based Library systems.
Current Class C Drivers Licence.
Currently hold a Working With Children Check Clearance (please provide Working With Children Check application/clearance reference number).
