Hireup is an Australian technology startup connecting people with disability and support workers online. We use technology to give people with disability the power to find, hire and manage their own support workers.
The software we’re building has never been built for our market and it’s already having a huge impact. We grew by over 700% in 2016 and are looking at another big year in 2017. We’re harnessing technology to save people with disability thousands of dollars and affording them many more hours of support. In 2016 alone, we collectively saved our users over $700k, which equates to more than 19,000 hours of extra support.
We’re a socially driven, for-purpose startup, run by a small but dedicated team of (big) thinkers, builders and doers. And we’re looking for our next recruit.
If you’re a bright and motivated Software Engineer with the ability to lead from the front, we want to hear from you. You could be the third in our fast-growing team.
Duties
Our business is growing fast in a changing industry, and the online platform is our core product. We’re looking to expand the tech team to help with this demand. You will:
Collaborate with the tech team, UX and the rest of the business to build new features for our community of users
Work across the full software development lifecycle from analysis and design to testing and DevOps
Produce high-quality code – readable, maintainable and tested
Take ownership of new product features that will have significant business and user impact
Actually see and feel the impact of your work thanks to a very responsive and vocal customer base
Skills required
Strong JavaScript experience.
Competent in front-end frameworks (Angular preferred). Knowledge of Angular 2 or React a bonus.
Experience using Node.js (Express) and API design.
Experience with MongoDB preferable.
Self-motivated and reliable.
Ability to take direction and also work independently.
Eager to work in a start up environment: fast paced, rapidly changing, high growth.
