ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

The Plate Mill is a key asset in the BlueScope Steel Supply Chain that provides a range of plate product into the domestic market. The Plate Mill Asset Team has an opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to utilize their technical skills to lead and support all aspects of maintenance to deliver a safe and efficient plant at minimal costs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide a zero harm workplace through safety and environmental leadership and execution of safe and efficient maintenance tasks for all employees / contractors
Deliver continuous improvement to safety and operations in line with the department’s WHS and Business plans
Establish and provide technical / maintenance direction to maintain plant and equipment
Provide leadership to direct reports and contractors including; defining role requirements, performance management and employee development
Ensure alignment of maintenance activities to support the business including strategic development, budget management and effective and compliant maintenance documentation
Lead significant R&M; projects, down days and short shutdowns
Key competencies, skills & experience:
Minimum tertiary qualifications are a certificate/diploma in electrical engineering with a degree desirable
Extensive experience in planning, organization and management principles of maintenance preferably in a heavy plant environment
Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a work team
Demonstrated ability to input to strategy development and plan & execute maintenance tasks
Understanding of current maintenance practices and Manufacturing Excellence model
Effective problem solver able to use root cause analysis approach/tools
This position is available for a 12 month fixed term appointment. Salary will be determined on skills, qualifications and experience.
