WEEKEND CHEF
WOLLONGONG AREA
Cater Care are seeking 2x Weekend Chefs to work at our various Aged Care facilities in Figtree.
Reporting to the Chef Manager, your role in this environment is to provide high quality, home style meals and food service to our valued residents at this brand new 5 Star Resort Style, Extra Services Aged Care Facility.
This is a hands-on position requiring you to prepare choice and variety for hot lunches, soup, dinner, afternoon tea, dessert and functions when required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Preparation of ingredients/menu- adherence to service times with consistency and quality of food product
• Preparation of afternoon tea, soup, 2 choices plus a la carte dinner options and dessert
• High attention to detail taking pride in food presentation
• Special diets including vegetarian, allergies/intolerances, supplements and texture modified soft & purees
• Monitoring food costs and ordering
• Monitoring and promoting kitchen hygiene and HACCP
• Work in a busy kitchen environment, time management and multi tasking
Key Criteria:
• Trade qualified chef
• Previous experience in a similar position preferably within Aged Care
• A passion for great food and customer service
• Strong OH&S; awareness
• Ability to communicate with various stakeholders
• Ability to work in fast pace environment and multi task
Roster: Saturday & Sunday 9.30am – 6.00pm
Pay Rate: Saturday $27.37/hour Sunday $38.32/hour
Please note: The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role working in functions or Aged Care/Health. You will be a well presented and self-motivated individual who has excellent organisational and communication skills.
