CIVIL LABOURERS
We are seeking highly motivated and team orientated Casual Civil Labourers to work in the City Services Section. Reporting to the Civil Coordinator, you will be responsible to undertake activities to contribute to the construction and maintenance of Council’s assets.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Demonstrated work performance, knowledge, skills and experience in civil works
Well developed interpersonal and communication skills with work team, supervisor, coordinator, public and external bodies
Ability to work under instruction with minimal supervision, within a team environment
Sound understanding and commitment to WHS and statutory requirements, quality standards and management systems
Understanding of relevant practices and policies in this field
Basic ability to use computers and mobile devices
Physically capable to undertake tasks relevant to the position
General Induction for Construction Work Certificate
Current Class C drivers license
Traffic Controllers (stop/slow) Ticket or ability to gain within probationary period
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
Experience in concreting
MR Licence or ability to obtain
Local Government Experience
Apply Traffic control ticket and Select and modify Traffic control
Working under overhead power lines accreditation
These are casual positions and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government State Award, relevant legislation and Council’s policies and procedures.
These positions are Grade 7 under Council’s salary system with a commencing salary of $28.06 per hour (which includes a casual loading). These positions may be eligible for an adverse working condition allowance.
