CIVIL PLANT OPERATOR (BOBCAT)

We are seeking a Civil Plant Operator to work in the City Services Section. Reporting to the Civil Coordinator, you will be responsible for operating plant and undertaking other activities to contribute to the construction and maintenance of Council’s assets.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Proven competency in the operation of one or more of the following major plant
Bobcat
Excavator
Crane – truck mounted
Backhoe
Demonstrated work performance and knowledge, skills and experience in civil engineering works
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to record resources utilised on projects
Ability to work without supervision and prioritise daily work activities within a team environment
Understanding of relevant practices and policies, legal and legislative requirements including commitment to WHS
Ability to use computers and mobile devices
Ability to manage staff performance and development
Physically capable to undertake task relevant to the position
General Induction for Construction Work Certificate
Current Class C driver’s license
Current Class MR driver’s license (Truck Mounted Crane Position only)
Traffic Controllers Tickets (any of the following; Traffic Controller Training (blue); Implement Traffic Control Plans (yellow) and/or Prepare Work Zone Traffic Management Plans (orange/red) or ability to gain these tickets within probationary period
Working under overhead power lines accreditation
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
Certificate II in Civil Engineering or equivalent
Local Government Experience
Current Class HR/MR driver’s license (not sweeper)
This is a full time 38 hour per week position. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government State Award, relevant legislation and Council’s policies and procedures.
This position is Grade 9-10 under Council’s salary system with a salary up to $1006.22 per week. This position may be eligible for an adverse working condition allowance
