Position Summary
The Illawarra Shoalhaven local health district (ISLHD) is located on the beautiful east coast of Australia between the Illawarra escarpment and the sea. This area spans 250km of beautiful pristine coastline as well as gorgeous bush landscape and rainforest regions.
The Illawarra Shoalhaven District has a direct link to the University of Wollongong who are leaders in many areas of research. The area also boasts an excellent public transport system, great schools both public and private as well as vibrant shopping and entertainment within the region.
An exciting opportunity is available for motivated individuals in Emergency Medicine to join our district Emergency Service. The ISLHD is committed to working together to build health futures. Our district presents an exciting time for Emergency Medicine with significant capital works developments happening in all three major Emergency Departments as well as expanding services to meet the growing needs of the region. Significant redesign of the ED was completed in 2015 in our major tertiary referral centre as well as a $251 million upgrade to commence at one of our regional facilities and upgrades to our other major centres.
All departments are well supported by three Emergency Directors who are motivated to work together and build the Emergency Medicine profile across the district as well as a District ED Director. Come and see what the fabulous Illawarra Shoalhaven region has to offer!
