Position Summary
This is a Permanent Full-Time position, working 38 hours per week, and classified as Health Manager, Level 2. This position location is negotiable within Southern NSW Local Health District.

Southern NSW LHD Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Service is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to lead the development of our approach to Aboriginal Mental Health and to support the Aboriginal Mental Health Workforce Devlopment program across the region.

This is a District wide role that will involve travel and requirement for overnight stays. The preferred location for the position will be negotiated with the successful applicant and is likely to be Bega, Batemans Bay/Moruya, Goulburn or Queanbeyan.

The position is responsible for coordinating the development of SNSWLHD MHDA Services for Aboriginal people including the development of an Aboriginal Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol workforce and the implementation of the Aboriginal Mental Health Traineeship Program across SNSW LHD.

The position will provide strategic advice to SNSW LHD MHDA Executive on the development of MHDA service provision for Aboriginal people in order to increase accessibility and quality of MHDA services for Aboriginal people. This will include the incorporation of relevant service initiatives and specific projects into MHDA service provision for Aboriginal people and their communities, including those determined at State and National level.

The position will also support and monitor development of collaborative relationships between SNSW LHD MHDA, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, and other relevant organisations.

The position will also provide clinical leadership to clinicians working with Aboriginal people and in certain limited circumstances, undertake direct clinical work to assist in complex matters.
